JAX MAINZ 2026 – MACHINE LEARNING & MICROMETRICS TO FORECAST PRODUCTION PROBLEMS

Every year in May, JAX MAINZ  is the go-to event for Java and Software Architecture enthusiasts! It is a five-day conference for cutting-edge software engineers and enterprise-level professionals.

This year, our architect Ram Lakshmanan was invited to talk on the topic: “MACHINE LEARNING & MICROMETRICS TO FORECAST PRODUCTION PROBLEMS”.

Modern observability tools often fail to forecast outages because they focus primarily on macro-metrics like CPU, memory, and response time, which are reactive in nature. This talk introduces a proactive forecasting framework centered on nine critical micro-metrics, including GC behavior patterns, thread activities, and TCP/IP connection states. By applying machine learning and pattern recognition to these granular data points, performance engineers can detect early warning signs of production problems and trigger a comprehensive 360° data capture for automated root cause analysis.
